Sequence Wines is a family owned boutique winery in Ventura County, California. We seek out the highest quality fruit sourced primarily from premium vineyards in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Through the exploration of varieties and wine making methods, we strive to create wines that are big in flavor - the kind of wines we enjoy drinking ourselves - and are sharing this experience of discovery with you. We are all stories in the making and we chose to make an edit to our story, by immersing ourselves in the world of wine making. This transition was sparked by our love of wine and the place it has held in our relationship. Wine is used to celebrate all of life’s occasions; landmark moments, holidays and simply spending time around a dinner table with friends and family. If we can craft wines that you choose to enjoy while shaping your personal story, then our goals will have been a success.

Tempranillo

Strawberry, cherry, tobacco and vanilla are some of the characteristics you may pick up from our Tempranillo. Fruit for this Spanish varietal wine comes from the Mora Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley. A dry and hot climate helped create the big fruit and deep color you will find on this red wine. The inverse to our Transition, Vignette is 97 percent Tempranillo with 3 percent Merlot. This blend of Tempranillo and Merlot, utilized more commonly in northern Spain, allows the velvety tannins of the Merlot to soften the more grippy tannins found in the Tempranillo.

My wife and I founded Sequence Wines from a profound love of wine and a passion for the artistry that goes into producing it. As a television editor, I've crafted countless stories, each one lying within an edit “sequence”. After years of drawing inspiration from other winemakers’ journeys, our dream of winemaking being part of our story, has now become a reality. We have started small, utilizing traditional wine making methods beginning with native yeast fermentation to create great wines that focus primarily on Bordeaux, Rhone and Italian varieties.

Our goal is to showcase the exceptional fruit coming from Southern California’s premium vineyards with each Sequence you experience. We are crafting our story in barrel to become part of your stories with each bottle. Here’s to the memories we hope you’ll create while drinking them.
